General Topology, chapter III, § 7. Inverse limits of topological groups and rings

Let (Gα,fαβ)(G_\alpha, f_{\alpha \beta}) be an inverse system of topological groups which satisfies the conditions of Proposition 5, and let G′G' be a topological group in which there is a neighbourhood V′V' of the identity element e′e' which contains no subgroup of G′G' other than {e′}\{ e' \}. Then if v:G→G′v : G \to G' is any continuous homomorphism, there is an index α∈I\alpha \in I and a continuous homomorphism vα:Gα→G′v_\alpha : G_\alpha \to G' such that v=vα∘fαv = v_\alpha \circ f_\alpha.

For since v‾−1(V′)\overline{v}^{-1}(V') is a neighbourhood of ee in GG, there is an index α\alpha and a neighbourhood VαV_\alpha of eαe_\alpha in GαG_\alpha such that fα−1(Vα)⊂v‾−1(V′)f_\alpha^{-1}(V_\alpha) \subset \overline{v}^{-1}(V'). Hence v(Hα)⊂V′v(H_\alpha) \subset V', and since v(Hα)v(H_\alpha) is a subgroup of G′G', it follows that v(Hα)={e′}v(H_\alpha) = \{ e' \}. Since fαf_\alpha may be identified with the canonical mapping G→G/HαG \to G/H_\alpha, the corollary is a consequence of the canonical factorization of a continuous homomorphism (§ 2, no. 8).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
