General Topology, chapter VIII, § 1. Complex numbers, quaternions

The topological group C∗\mathbf{C}^* is isomorphic to the product of the topological groups R∗\mathbf{R}^* and U\mathbf{U}.

For the mapping z→(∣z∣,z∣z∣)z \to \left( |z|, \frac{z}{|z|} \right) is a homeomorphism of C∗\mathbf{C}^* onto R+∗×U\mathbf{R}_+^* \times \mathbf{U} (Chapter VI, § 2, no. 3, Proposition 3); and it follows immediately that it is an isomorphism of the group structures.

The topological group R+∗\mathbf{R}_+^* is already known to be isomorphic to the additive group R\mathbf{R} (Chapter V, § 4, Theorem 1); the study of the topological group C∗\mathbf{C}^* is therefore reduced to that of U\mathbf{U}, which we shall consider in § 2.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
