General Topology, chapter X, § 3. Special function spaces

Let XiX_i (1≤i≤n1 \leq i \leq n) and YY be normed vector spaces over a non-discrete valued division ring KK, and let X=∏i=1nXiX = \prod_{i=1}^n X_i. Then the set of all multilinear mappings of XX into YY is closed in the space Fs(X;Y)\mathscr{F}_s(X; Y).

This set consists of all u∈F(X;Y)u \in F(X; Y) which satisfy all the relations

u(x1,…,xi′+xi′′,…,xn)=u(x1,…,xi′,…,xn)+u(x1,…,xi′′,…,xn),u(x1,…,λxi,…,xn)=λu(x1,…,xi,…,xn) \begin{align*} u(x_1, \ldots, x_i' + x_i'', \ldots, x_n) &= u(x_1, \ldots, x_i', \ldots, x_n) \\ &\quad + u(x_1, \ldots, x_i'', \ldots, x_n), \\ u(x_1, \ldots, \lambda x_i, \ldots, x_n) &= \lambda u(x_1, \ldots, x_i, \ldots, x_n) \end{align*}
(1≤i≤n, xi, xi′, xi′′1 \leq i \leq n,\ x_i,\ x_i',\ x_i'' arbitrary elements of XiX_i, λ\lambda an arbitrary element of KK); since both sides of the relations (1) are continuous functions of uu on Fs(X;Y)\mathscr{F}_s(X; Y) (§ 1, no. 2, Remark 6), the result follows (Chapter I, § 8, no. 1, Proposition 2).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
