Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter IX, § 2. Maximal tori of compact Lie groups

Let G be a connected compact Lie group, T a maximal torus of G, H a Lie group and φ:L(G)→L(H)\varphi : L(G)\rightarrow L(H) a homomorphism of Lie algebras. There exists a morphism of Lie groups f:G→Hf: G\rightarrow H such that L(f)=φL(f) =\varphi if and only if there exists a morphism of Lie groups fT:T→Hf_T: T\rightarrow H such that L(fT)=φ∣L(T)L(f_T) =\varphi |L(T); then fT=f∣Tf_T=f|T.

If f:G→Hf: G\rightarrow H is a morphism of Lie groups such that L(f)=φL(f) =\varphi, the restriction fTf_T of ff to T is the unique morphism from T to H such that L(fT)=φ∣L(T)L(f_T) =\varphi |L(T). Conversely, let fT:T→Hf_T: T\rightarrow H be a morphism of Lie groups such that L(fT)=φ∣L(T)L(f_T) =\varphi |L(T). Let D~(G)\widetilde{D}(G) and pp be as above; the map L(p)L(p) induces an isomorphism from L(D~(G))L( \widetilde{D}(G)) to the derived algebra b\mathfrak{b} of L(G). There exists a morphism of Lie groups f~:D~(G)→H\widetilde{f}: \widetilde{D}(G)\rightarrow H such that L(f~)=(φ∣b)∘L(p)L( \widetilde{f}) = (\varphi |\mathfrak{b})\circ L(p) (Chap. III, §6, no. 1, Th. 1). The morphisms t→f~(t)t \rightarrow \widetilde{f}(t) and t→fT(p(t))t \rightarrow f_T(p(t)) from T~\widetilde{T} to H induce the same homomorphism of Lie algebras, and hence coincide. Applying Lemma 2, we deduce the existence of a morphism f:G→Hf: G\rightarrow H such that L(f)L(f) and φ\varphi coincide on L(T) and b\mathfrak{b}. Since L(G)=b+L(T)L(G) =\mathfrak{b}+ L(T), we have L(f)=φL(f) =\varphi.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
