Algebra, chapter V, § 3. Algebraic extensions

— Let E be an extension of K and A a subset of E consisting of elements that are algebraic over K. Then K(A)K(A) is algebraic over K and we have K[A]=K(A)K[A] = K(A).

For each x∈K(A)x \in K(A) belongs to a field K(F)K(F), where F is a finite subset of AA (VV, p. 11, Cor.); now K(F)K(F) is algebraic over KK and equal to K[F]K[F] by Th. 2, hence xx is algebraic over KK and K(A)=K[A]K(A) = K[A].

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
