Algebra, V, p. 71, § 10. Galois extensions

Let N′N' be an extension of KK generated by two subextensions K′K' and NN. Suppose that NN is Galois over KK, with Galois group Γ\Gamma and that K′∩N=KK' \cap N = K. Then the extension N′N' of K′K' is Galois and the canonical homomorphism φ\varphi of K′⊗KNK' \otimes_K N into N′N' is an isomorphism. Let σ∈Gal(N/K)\sigma \in \mathrm{Gal}(N/K) and let σ′\sigma' be the element of Gal(N′/K′)\mathrm{Gal}(N'/K') which corresponds to it under the translation isomorphism; then we have σ′∘φ=φ∘(IdK′⊗u)\sigma' \circ \varphi = \varphi \circ (\mathrm{Id}_{K'} \otimes u).

We have N′=K′(N)N' = K'(N) and NN is algebraic and separable over KK; hence (V, p. 42, Prop. 10), the extension N′N' of K′K' is algebraic and separable. By Cor. 4 of V, p. 54 the extension N′N' of K′K' is quasi-Galois. Therefore the extension N′N' of K′K' is Galois. By c) above the mapping σ↦σ∣N\sigma \mapsto \sigma|_N is an homomorphism λ\lambda of Gal(N′/K′)\mathrm{Gal}(N'/K') onto Gal(N/K)\mathrm{Gal}(N/K).

We have N=K′[N]N = K'[N] because NN is algebraic over KK (V, p. 18, Cor. 1), hence φ\varphi is surjective. If aa belongs to Gal(N/K)\mathrm{Gal}(N/K), we have

λ−1(σ)∘φ=φ∘(IdK′⊗σ). \lambda^{-1}(\sigma) \circ \varphi = \varphi \circ (\mathrm{Id}_{K'} \otimes \sigma).

Therefore the kernel of φ\varphi is stable under the mappings IdK′⊗σ\mathrm{Id}_{K'} \otimes \sigma, hence of the form K′⊗KN0K' \otimes_K N_0 with N0⊂NN_0 \subset N (V, p. 63, Cor.). For xx in N0N_0 we have x=φ(1⊗x)=0x = \varphi(1 \otimes x) = 0, hence N0=0N_0 = 0 and so φ\varphi is injective.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
