Integration, IV, p. 80, § 5. Measurable functions and sets
Let be a locally countable set of -measurable subsets of and let . For a mapping of into a topological space to be -measurable, it is necessary and sufficient that the restriction of to every be -measurable.
We have already observed (No. 9) that is -measurable. The condition being obviously necessary, let us prove that it is sufficient. Thus, let be a compact subset of . By hypothesis, there exists a sequence of sets belonging to such that the form a covering of . Set and
Property d) of Prop. 15 makes it possible to immediately generalize the properties of measurable functions defined on all of , observed in Nos. 2 to 5, to measurable functions defined on a measurable subset of ; these generalizations are left to the reader. We only point out explicitly that the principle of localization (No. 2, Prop. 4) remains valid when it is assumed that each of the functions is only defined in (or almost everywhere in ) and is measurable.
Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
