Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter I, § 2. Enveloping algebra of a Lie algebra

Let g be a Lie K-algebra, U its enveloping algebra, G the graded algebra associated with the filtered algebra U and S the symmetric algebra of the K-module g. If g is a free K-module, the canonical homomorphism ω:S→G\omega : S \to G is an isomorphism.

Let (xλ)λ∈Λ(x_\lambda)_{\lambda \in \Lambda} be a basis of the K-module g; we give Λ\Lambda a total ordering (Set Theory, Chapter III, § 2, no. 3, Theorem 1). Let P be the polynomial algebra K[zλ]λ∈ΛK[z_\lambda]_{\lambda \in \Lambda} in indeterminates zλz_\lambda in one-to-one correspondence with the xλx_\lambda. For every sequence M=(λ1,λ2,...,λn)M = (\lambda_1, \lambda_2, ..., \lambda_n) of elements of Λ\Lambda, let zMz_M denote the monomial zλ1zλ2...zλnz_{\lambda_1}z_{\lambda_2}...z_{\lambda_n} and xMx_M the tensor xλ1⊗xλ2⊗⋯⊗xλnx_{\lambda_1} \otimes x_{\lambda_2} \otimes \cdots \otimes x_{\lambda_n}.

The zMz_M, for M increasing, form a basis of the K-module P (we make the convention that ∅\varnothing is an increasing sequence and that z∅=1z_\varnothing = 1). Let PpP_p be the submodule of polynomials of degree ≤p\leq p. We shall first prove several lemmas. (To abbreviate, we write λ≤M\lambda \leq M if λ≤μ\lambda \leq \mu for every index μ\mu of the sequence M.)

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
