Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter III, § 6. Real and complex Lie groups

Let GG be a finite-dimensional connected Lie group. (i) Int(L(G))=Ad(G)\mathrm{Int}(L(G)) = \mathrm{Ad}(G). (ii) Let ZZ be the centre of GG. Then ZZ is a Lie subgroup of GG whose Lie algebra is the centre of L(G)L(G). The mapping of G/ZG/Z into Int L(G)\mathrm{Int}\, L(G) derived from g↦Ad gg \mapsto \mathrm{Ad}\, g when passing to the quotient is a Lie group isomorphism. Assertion (i) follows from Corollary 3 (ii) and the remarks after Definition 2. Let g∈Gg \in G. In order that Ad g=IdL(G)\mathrm{Ad}\, g = \mathrm{Id}_{L(G)}, it is necessary and sufficient that Int g\mathrm{Int}\, g coincide with IdG\mathrm{Id}_G on a neighbourhood of ee (§4§ 4, no. 1, Theorem 1 (ii)) and hence on the whole of GG; in other words, it is necessary and sufficient that g∈Zg \in Z. Then (ii) follows from Corollary 1 to Proposition 1.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
