General Topology, chapter I, § 9. Compact spaces and locally compact spaces

The union of a finite family of quasi-compact subsets of a topological space is quasi-compact.

It is sufficient to show that if AA and BB are two quasi-compact subsets of a topological space XX, then A∪BA \cup B is quasi-compact. Let R\mathscr{R} be covering of A∪BA \cup B; then R\mathscr{R} is a covering of AA and a covering of BB; hence R\mathscr{R} contains a finite covering R1\mathscr{R}_1 of AA and a finite covering R2\mathscr{R}_2 of BB; R1∪R2\mathscr{R}_1 \cup \mathscr{R}_2 is thus a finite covering of A∪BA \cup B contained in R\mathscr{R}.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
