Commutative Algebra, chapter IV, § 1. Prime ideals associated with a module

Let MM be a module over a Noetherian ring AA. Then the condition M≠{0}M \neq \{0\} is equivalent to Ass⁡(M)≠∅\operatorname{Ass}(M) \neq \varnothing.

If M={0}M = \{0\}, clearly Ass⁡(M)\operatorname{Ass}(M) is empty (without any hypothesis on AA). If M≠{0}M \neq \{0\}, the set of ideals of the form Ann⁡(x)\operatorname{Ann}(x), where x∈Mx \in M and x≠0x \neq 0, is non-empty and consists of ideals #A\# A; as AA is Noetherian, this set has a maximal element; then it suffices to apply Proposition 2.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
