Commutative Algebra, chapter VII, § 1. Krull domains

Let AA be an integrally closed Noetherian domain. (a) Let PP be an extremal divisor of AA and pp the corresponding divisorial prime ideal;

for n∈Nn \in \mathbf{N}, let p(n)=pnAp∩Ap^{(n)} = p^n A_p \cap A; then p(n)p^{(n)} is the set of x∈Ax \in A such that vp(x)≥nv_p(x) \geq n and is a pp-primary ideal.

(b) Let aa be a divisorial integral ideal, n1P1+…+nrPrn_1 P_1 + \ldots + n_r P_r the divisor of aa (the PiP_i being distinct extremal divisors) and pip_i the divisorial prime ideal corresponding to PiP_i. Then a=⋂i=1rpi(ni)a = \bigcap_{i=1}^r p_i^{(n_i)} is the unique reduced primary decomposition of aa and the pip_i are not immersed.

By Corollary 1 to Proposition 6, the relation x∈pnAp=(pAp)nx \in p^n A_p = (pA_p)^n is equivalent to vp(x)≥nv_p(x) \geq n; on the other hand, as AA, is a discrete valuation ring, (pAp)n(pA_p)^n is (pAp)(pA_p)-primary (Chapter IV, § 2, no. 1, Example 4) and hence p(n)p^{(n)} is pp-primary (Chapter IV, § 2, no. 1, Proposition 3); this shows (a). Proposition 5 certainly shows that a=⋂i=1rpi(ni)a = \bigcap_{i=1}^r p_i^{(n_i)}. As pi⊄pjp_i \not\subset p_j for i≠ji \neq j this primary decomposition is reduced: For if pi(ni)⊃⋂j≠ipj(nj)⊃∏j≠ipj(nj)p_i^{(n_i)} \supset \bigcap_{j \neq i} p_j^{(n_j)} \supset \prod_{j \neq i} p_j^{(n_j)}, pjip_{ji} would contain one of the pjp_j for j≠ij \neq i (Chapter II, § 1, no. 1, Proposition 1). The uniqueness follows from Chapter IV, § 2, no. 3, Proposition 5.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
